Bajaj's new dual-sport adventure motorcycle spotted ahead of official unveil

Bajaj Auto's first-ever adventure motorcycle appears to be moving closer to production. The upcoming Bajaj ADV has been spotted testing once again, with the latest spy images and video revealing more details about the motorcycle's mechanical package and design. While the test mule continues to wear heavy camouflage, a closer look suggests that Bajaj could position the new motorcycle as an affordable entry into the growing adventure bike segment.

Adventure motorcycles have steadily gained popularity in India over the past few years, with manufacturers expanding their portfolios across different price points. Bajaj Auto has a strong presence in the performance motorcycle space through its own Pulsar range as well as KTM, but it has not yet introduced an adventure motorcycle under the Bajaj brand. That could change later this year.

The new spy shot confirms that Bajaj will use the instrument cluster that we recently experienced on the N160 SS. It is a full TFT cluster that is a bit laggy but shows a lot of information, including Google Maps.

Bajaj ADV could use the Pulsar N250's engine

One of the most significant details visible on the latest test mule is its cooling setup. A closer look at the area above the engine reveals a radiator that appears similar in size to the unit used on the Bajaj Pulsar N250. This suggests that the upcoming ADV could use Bajaj's 250 cc oil-cooled engine.

If Bajaj does use the N250's motor, it would be a logical choice for an adventure-focused motorcycle. The engine is known for delivering strong low-end and mid-range torque, characteristics that should suit touring duties as well as low-speed off-road riding. The smaller-capacity engine could also help Bajaj keep costs under control and position the motorcycle below more premium offerings in the segment.

The upcoming model could therefore occupy an interesting space in Bajaj's portfolio. KTM already sells the 250 Adventure and 390 Adventure at higher price points, while the more affordable adventure motorcycle segment has seen strong competition from models such as the Hero XPulse 210. Bajaj's new ADV could offer buyers a more accessible option with a larger-capacity engine than the entry-level dual-sport motorcycles currently available in the market.

Slim telescopic forks and 19-inch front wheel expected

The latest sighting has also revealed more about the motorcycle's suspension and wheel setup. The upcoming Bajaj ADV appears to use slim telescopic front forks instead of upside-down forks. The forks are covered by gaiters, which should offer additional protection from dust and debris during off-road riding.

At the rear, the motorcycle is expected to use a monoshock suspension setup. The prototype also appears to feature a relatively small front disc brake, although the final production-spec motorcycle could receive changes.

The new Bajaj adventure bike is expected to run on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel. This setup should offer a compromise between on-road stability and off-road ability, making the motorcycle suitable for riders looking for a versatile machine for daily commuting, highway touring and occasional trail riding. The test bike also appears to feature wire-spoke wheels, further underlining its adventure-focused positioning.

Lighting could be borrowed from the Pulsar range

The latest spy images have also revealed details of the motorcycle's lighting setup. The rear appears to use a taillight similar to the one seen on Bajaj's Pulsar N series motorcycles. At the front, the bike is expected to get an LED projector headlamp, which could potentially be sourced from the Pulsar N250.

The overall design remains largely hidden under camouflage, but the prototype has a conventional adventure motorcycle silhouette with a tall stance.

Bajaj has not officially confirmed the specifications, launch timeline or pricing of its first adventure motorcycle yet. However, repeated sightings of the test mule suggest that development is progressing. If launched with the Pulsar N250-derived 250 cc engine and aggressive pricing, the new Bajaj ADV could give the brand a strong entry point into one of India's increasingly popular motorcycle segments.
