Honda NX500 E-Clutch Engine and Performance
The NX500 continues to use the same 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The motor produces 46 bhp and 43 Nm of torque.
Honda says the engine has been tuned to deliver strong low and mid-range torque while maintaining smooth power delivery at higher engine speeds, making it suitable for both city usage and highway touring.
Honda NX500 E-Clutch Technology
The key update on the motorcycle is the introduction of Honda’s E-Clutch system. The technology electronically manages clutch engagement during starts, gear shifts, and stops, reducing the need for manual clutch operation in traffic conditions.
The system can still be manually overridden whenever required, allowing riders to retain conventional clutch control if preferred. Honda says the E-Clutch setup is designed to reduce rider fatigue during stop-and-go traffic while maintaining the engaging riding feel associated with traditional motorcycles.
Honda NX500 E-Clutch Hardware and Features
The motorcycle is built around a steel diamond frame and continues with Showa SFF-BP upside-down front forks paired with a preload-adjustable rear monoshock suspension setup.
Braking duties are handled by dual front disc brakes and a rear disc brake with dual-channel ABS. The adventure motorcycle rides on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel setup.
Feature highlights include a 5-inch full-colour TFT instrument display with Honda RoadSync connectivity, supporting navigation, call alerts, and music control functions. The NX500 also comes equipped with Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and full LED lighting as standard.
