Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Monday opened bookings for the BS 6 compliant version of its enormously popular MPV Innova Crysta. BS 6 emission norms will kick in from April 1 and manufacturers won't be able to sell BS 4 cars after that date.

Keeping pace with the norms that will kick in from April 1, Toyota has upgraded the Innova Crysta which will have both its petrol and diesel versions compatible with BS 6 regulations. Both versions will be available in manual as well as automatic transmission options. "It is indeed a proud moment for us to present BS-VI Innova Crysta, as we open bookings for it today at a celebratory price for a limited time period and customer orders for limited number," said Naveen Soni, Senior Vice President, Sales & Service. "Innova Crysta comes with BS-VI compliant engine, an improvement of the already powerful GD-Series engines, promising low emissions and higher efficiency."

Innova Crysta and Touring Sport are priced in the range of 15,36,000 and 24,06,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). Also, Vehicle Stability Control(VSC), Hill Assist Control(HAC) & Emergency Brake Signal(EBS) are standardised across all grades of BS 6 Innova Crysta.

Launched in 2016, the Innova Crysta has been a firm favourite in the personal buyer as well as fleet space. Offering miles of space on the inside, coupled with upgraded looks and additions of features, the MPV has remained relevant despite the launch of several alternatives in the far cheaper price bracket like Marazzo from Mahindra. In fact, although the Ertiga from Maruti Suzuki is also a highly popular MPV around the 10 lakh price bracket and despite the launch of several SUVs in India in the past several years, the Innova Crysta has managed to hold its ground. It has sold close to 2,70,000 units, conquering about 40% of share in its segment.
