NEW DELHI :

Hyundai India on Monday revealed two design renders of Aura, its upcoming sub-four meter sedan that will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Volkeswagen Ameo.

The design renders reveal a sporty external design element on all sides with a touch of futuristic infusions which could make the Aura extremely contemporary. Hyundai terms it as 'Sensuous Sportiness' and claims that the design objective of the Aura is 'to bring instinctive beauty and create emotional value and desirability.

The Aura is based on the Xcent platform but is a stand alone vehicle in the compact sedan category which would be aimed at the premium customer base.

Hyundai has already confirmed that under the hood, the Aura will get three engine options - 1.2 Kappa Dual VTVT petrol, 1.0-Turbo Dual VTVT petrol and 1.2 U2 CRDi diesel. There will also be an auto option 1.2 petrol and diesel versions.

On the inside, expect Aura to be miles ahead in terms of quality of materials as well as features than the Xcent. The new car may get all or most of the following, at the very least:

The Aura is expected to be launched at the Auto Expo 2020.

Hyundai is looking at keeping things busy next year and will also drive in the much-awaited 2020 Creta to reclaim some of the lost traction in the compact SUV segment.
