With eye on electric space, Maruti to showcase Concept FUTURO-e at Auto Expo
NEW DELHI : With the momentum in the Indian automotive industry clearly towards electric mobility, the country's largest auto maker Maruti Suzuki was never going to remain a mute spectator. While Maruti does not have an electric offering as yet, the company said on Tuesday that it will showcase its Concept FUTURO-e, a coupe-like electric concept car, at the Auto Expo 2020 which starts from February 7 in Greater Noida.
Conceptualized and designed in India, Maruti says Concept FUTURO-e is a design study for next generation mobility solutions. "Concept FUTURO-e demonstrates a bold new global design language for the popular utility vehicle segment," the company said in a press statement.

CV Raman, Senior Executive Director (Engineering) at Maruti Suzuki, added that Concept FUTURO-e is set to define how future cars of Maruti would look like. There is an emphasis on simple yet captivating styling on the Concept FUTURO-e and is a 'departure from the mainstream SUV architecture.' Maruti says it draws inspiration from geo-organic structural forms occurring in nature.
