Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: Overview
The new generation of the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line was launched in India in April 2025 and has arrived on our shores via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route. Launched alongside the Golf GTI hatchback, the new Tiguan R-Line is the top-spec of the SUV. The sportier SUV is based on the standard Tiguan with mechanical, functional, and cosmetic upgrades. Volkswagen has priced the Tiguan R-Line from ₹49 lakh (ex-showroom) with six colour options for the buyer to choose from.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: Specs & Features
The new-gen Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line draws its power from a 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine. This motor churns out 201 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a seven-speed DSG. While the Tiguan R-Line is available with a six-speed manual in the global markets, the option is excluded from VW’s India lineup.
The global-spec Tiguan includes features such as Dynamic Chassis Control Pro for the adaptive suspension system, as well as twin-valve variable dampers with a Vehicle Dynamics Manager (VDM) system. It will be interesting to see if the India-spec model will come equipped with these features.
The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line’s cabin boasts a tech-savvy layout, highlighted by a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.1-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system based on the latest MIB4 UI. The new Tiguan remains configured as a five-seater and features full HD Matrix LED headlights connected by a lightbar that stretches across the front end.
