Jeep Avenger 4xe: Overview
The Jeep Avenger 4xe is the latest addition to Jeep’s compact SUV lineup, unveiled globally as a new all-wheel drive hybrid offering. Building on the standard Avenger, which was previously available only with electric or petrol front-wheel drive variants, the 4xe introduces a dual-motor hybrid system paired with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. Jeep is targeting customers looking for a compact SUV with enhanced off-road capability and improved fuel efficiency. While the Avenger nameplate has yet to be confirmed for the Indian market, this model could slot in as a premium compact SUV rivalling the likes of the Volvo XC40 Recharge if launched.
Jeep Avenger 4xe: Price
Jeep has not officially announced pricing for the Avenger 4xe, but if it were to be launched in India, it is expected to carry a price tag starting from around ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom). The hybrid powertrain and all-wheel drive capabilities will place it in a premium price bracket.
Jeep Avenger 4xe: Launch Date
As of now, Jeep has not confirmed whether the Avenger or its 4xe variant will be launched in India.
Jeep Avenger 4xe: Specs & Features
The Avenger 4xe pairs a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 135 bhp with two 28 bhp electric motors—one on each axle. This setup enables an all-wheel-drive layout, with the petrol engine and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission driving the front wheels and the electric motors powering the rear axle. Combined, this hybrid system provides 36 hp and 25 Nm more than the e-Hybrid FWD version. The torque output at the rear electric motors is claimed to be 1,900 Nm.
The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 9.5 seconds using the e-Boost function and has a top speed of 194 kmph. A new multilink rear suspension setup enhances ride quality and off-road stability, while the ride height is increased by 10 mm compared to the standard model. The Avenger 4xe offers Jeep’s Selec-Terrain system with five drive modes: Auto, Snow, Sand, Mud, and Sport. Off-road specifications include a 22-degree approach angle, 21-degree breakover angle, and 35-degree departure angle, with a water-wading capacity of up to 400 mm.
