The 2025 Yamaha MT-15 V2 continues to dominate the premium 155cc streetfighter segment in India. Known for its aggressive "Dark Side of Japan" styling and high-performance engine, this latest iteration brings significant updates to its technology and safety suites.
Latest Updates for 2025
The newest version of the Yamaha MT-15 V2 introduces a full-colour TFT instrument console for the top-tier variants, replacing the older LCD unit. This new display supports Turn-by-Turn Navigation and enhanced Bluetooth connectivity via the Y-Connect app. Yamaha has also expanded the palette with new 2025 colour options, including Ice Storm and Vivid Violet Metallic, specifically for the Deluxe (DLX) trim.
Key Specifications and Performance
At the heart of the 2025 model is the legendary liquid-cooled engine equipped with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology. This system ensures linear power delivery across both low-end and high-end RPM ranges.
Transmission: 6-speed with Assist & Slipper Clutch
Fuel Efficiency: Real-world mileage of approximately 48–56 kmpl
Chassis: High-rigidity Deltabox frame with an aluminium swingarm
Safety and Ride Quality
The 2025 version prioritises rider safety by making Dual-Channel ABS a standard feature across most variants. The inclusion of a Traction Control System (TCS) further minimises wheelspin on slippery surfaces, a rarity in the 150cc class. For handling, it uses 37mm Upside Down (USD) Front Forks, which provide superior stability and a premium "big bike" feel during cornering.

Yamaha MT-15 V2: Big Attitude in a Compact Package
I chose the Yamaha MT-15 (V2) for daily city commuting and fun rides. The bike has a smooth engine, offers good acceleration, and provides a comfortable ride. Features like dual-channel ABS, a digital console, and LED lights are quite useful. The price is a bit on the higher side, but considering the performance, reliability, and sporty looks, the bike offers good value for money.By: Ekanshdeep Gupta (Jan 4, 2026)

Awesome Bike with Great Features
The MT 15 is a fantastic bike! It's super comfy and gives great mileage, making my rides so enjoyable. I really love how it looks, too; the design is stunning! However, I did notice that the seat is a bit small. Despite this, the performance is excellent, and the maintenance and servicing have been great. Overall, riding this bike is a good experience, but I think the price is a bit steep, which is a downside.By: Suraj Pillai (Aug 25, 2025)

Amazing Ride for Stylish Riders
This bike is just amazing! The performance really stands out, and the display is super bright and of high quality. Plus, it looks like a beast on the road. The gear-shifting is really smooth too, which makes riding a breeze. I’m getting about 50 km per litre, which is pretty decent. If you're stylish and a student, the MT 15 is definitely a top pick. Also, the service costs are quite reasonable and you won’t break the bank on maintenance.By: Rohit Salunkhe (Aug 16, 2025)

Amazing Bike for Tours and Contests
I got this bike in Ahmedabad and I use it for my tours and riding contests. I ride with a group of Yamaha bike fans. The way it looks and performs is really impressive. I really like how it looks and keeping it up doesn't cost much. It's great for riding on the road, though it's a bit lacking when it comes to off-road riding. The light indicators are really nice. Overall, this bike is a real beast for such a good price.By: Vikas Chauhan (Aug 9, 2025)
