World premier of the Skoda Kushaq will take place on March 18.

The production version of the 2021 Skoda Kushaq SUV is going to be revealed today. The SUV was earlier showcased by the carmaker in the form of Vision-IN concept SUV which was revealed for the first time at the Auto Expo 2020. Here's what to expect from Skoda's upcoming SUV in India.

1

Aggressive Design: Skoda says that the Kushaq will be majorly based upon the Vision-IN concept which was displayed at the expo in the past. If claims are true, the Kushaq will sport a very aggressive, bold and modern design which will be a more mature version of its concept model. Expect the Kushaq to feature a signature Skoda grille at the front with prominent twin ribs outlined in crystal. There will also be split LED headlights lending its front fascia a more intimidating appeal.

2

Sophisticated Interiors: Skoda has already shared some design sketches of the Kushaq's interiors a few days back. The images hint that the SUV will benefit from the highly sophisticated cabin and interiors. There will be a free-standing 10-inch digital instrument cluster which will be one of the key highlights inside the Kushaq. There will be buttons for climate control and it will also have a driver’s armrest. As per the sketches, the exterior body colour theme will also continue inside the cabin, contributing to its premium appeal.

3

Engine Options: The new Kushaq will feature two engine options - a 1.0-litre and a 1.5-litre TSI motor. For the transmission duties, there will be a six-speed manual, a six-speed automatic or the option of a seven-speed DSG.

4

MQB-A0-IN Platform: The Kushaq will come based on the MQB-A0-IN platform which is an extension of the Volkswagen Group's Modular Transverse Toolkit. For the record, the same platform will also be used on the VW's upcoming Taigun SUV which is a technical twin to Skoda's Kushaq SUV.
