Hyundai Motor Corp recently announced it has plans of manufacturing a pick-up style SUV from its factory in United States' Alabama.

Hyundai stated that its manufacturing facility in Montgomery is being expanded in what is a $410 million project and that around 1,200 new jobs could be created. The biggest revelation, however, was that the Korean company will soon manufacture a pick-up style SUV from this plant - the Santa Cruz SUV.

The Santa Cruz SUV will have an open bed, typically seen on pick-up vehicles.

There has been a growing buzz since the announcement with experts believing that Hyundai could be targeting young buyers with this vehicle.

With the final design already cleared and put to production, the factory in Montgomery could start manufacturing by 2021.

The Santa Cruz SUV is likely to have its own design language which keeps it distinct from its siblings. A concept version of the car was first showcased in 2015 and while it had a two-door setup, the production version may well have four doors. Also, Hyundai may be inclined towards a gasoline-version (petrol).
