Hyundai Motor India has announced that its upcoming sedan for the Indian market will be named 'Aura'.

A sub four-metre sedan, the Aura has been spied testing over the past several months and is reportedly a new-gen version of the Xcent. The car is likely to be launched either by the end of 2019 or in the first few weeks of the new year.

The company is targeting the young achievers and says Aura will deliver on the high expectations of this particular target segment of sedan buyers. The name Aura, according to the company, is inspired by 'Vibrancy of Positivity' and 'Spirit to go the Distance.'

The Aura is expected to get contemporary styling with LED DRLs, chrome insets, 15-inch alloys among other visual highlights. On the inside, the car may borrow from the Grand i10 NIOS and have an eight-inch infotainment screen, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, leather-wrapped steering wheels and even wireless charging.

The Aura may also get the same engine as the NIOS which would see the 1.2-litre petrol motor pulling the weight. It would be interesting to see what the Korean carmaker chooses to put up in the diesel department because the BS VI norms will kick in from April of 2020.

Hyundai is hoping that the Aura would be able to put up a stiff fight against market leader Dzire from Maruti Suzuki as well as strong players like Honda Amaze, Ford Aspire and Volkswagen Ameo.
