This top notch dirt-bike retains all the features that make it a dirt-bike. The Suzuki RM Z450 is just an essential motocrosser without the “bling” factor. A high beak mudguard in the front and a thin tail mudguard in the rear, under-seat exhaust, a long seat at the fuel tank’s height are all the characteristics found on the RM Z450. Taking a hint from the global market, the RM Z450 is expected to be released in Suzuki’s ‘Champion Yellow No. 2’ colour scheme.

This bike gets a good wheelbase, ground clearance and seat height to suit its purpose. The RM Z450 stays nimble while trailing through the dirt-track or even when it’s airborne since the mass is concentrated in the centre. The inverted telescopic forks on the front and a monoshock suspension on the rear have long travel character to allow serious off-roading. With a weight of just 112 kilograms, the Suzuki RM Z450 poses a threat to all its competitors in the tracks.

Suzuki has equipped the RM Z450 with a ‘MX-Tuner 2.0’ kit that enables customised tuning through a smartphone app. Through the app, a receiver in the bike can be instructed to regulate ignition timing and fuel delivery for optimum performance in a race. The personalised settings can be pre-programmed as well. This smart system also records real-time engine data and run-time information to maintain the bike better. Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control (S-HAC) allows the rider to select multiple launch control options to suit riding conditions in a bid to get a head start in the race. The RM Z450 also comes with advanced traction management system as standard.

As a top of the line dirt-bike, Suzuki has given its RM Z450 adequate performance numbers to deal with competition. A 449cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine powers the RM Z450. Suzuki has specially designed the cylinder head intake port to increase power output. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The high peak horsepower with abundant low end torque provides great throttle response throughout the rev range. Although Suzuki has not officially revealed the power figures, an American tuner ran the RM Z450 on a dyno test. The test revealed that the bike makes 50.2 BHP at 8,800 RPM and 45 Nm torque at 7,600 RPM.
