Mixed Daily Feel

KTM 890 Duke R engine is pure fire. Handling sharp. But ride comfort stiff, seat hard, pillion seat useless for family trips. Expensive maintenance cost. Great machine if performance is your only priority in life.

Great Tech Hard Ride

Tech features and TFT screen on KTM 890 Duke R are cool. Handling is super sharp. But stiff suspension breaks your back on bad roads. Price tag high, service expensive. Good track bike, tough daily driver.

Heating In Traffic

Engine punch on KTM 890 Duke R is super fun. But in summer city traffic, engine heat near legs gets uncomfortable. Quickshifter optional software pack costs extra money. Suspension very stiff for daily office commute. Great sports bike, but average practical usability.

Not For Touring

Acceleration on KTM 890 Duke R gives massive thrill. Brembo brakes stop on dime. But lack of wind protection and hard seat makes touring beyond 200 km uncomfortable. Ownership cost premium. Buy for weekend twists only.

High Windblast Issue

Engine power and Brembo Stylema brakes on KTM 890 Duke R are mindblowing. But being naked streetfighter, severe windblast above 120 kmph makes long highway touring tiring. Pillion comfort is zero. Buy only if you want extreme naked performance and have second vehicle for family.

Tall Seat Height

KTM 890 Duke R performance and Brembo brakes are top class. However 834mm seat height makes it difficult for average height riders in bumper to bumper traffic. Fuel tank capacity 14L gives short range on touring. Great track tool, but daily ownership experience comes with compromise.

Practicality Is Low

KTM 890 Duke R is great for track days, but daily city commuting is quite difficult. Engine heats up fast in Indian summer traffic and radiator fan runs continuously. Seat is very hard and pillion space is practically non existent. Mileage is around 16 kmpl in city. Good performance bike, but zero family practicality.

Stiff Ride Comfort

The KTM 890 Duke R performance is incredible, no doubt about 121 PS power output. But ride quality on Indian broken roads is extremely stiff. WP APEX suspension feels harsh on potholes. Also maintenance cost at authorized service center is quite expensive. Strictly for solo weekend enthusiasts, not for everyday family comfort.

Expensive Spare Parts

Loving the torque on KTM 890 Duke R, but ownership cost is on higher side. Spare parts prices are premium and routine service cost is high. Stiff suspension setup makes city rides bumpy. Good for highway thrills, but maintenance bills will burn hole in pocket over time.

Unreliable Electronic Tech

Disappointed with KTM 890 Duke R electronic system. Quickshifter miss shifts frequently between 2nd and 3rd gear. Bike stalled twice in heavy rain due to sensor error. Ride comfort is terrible on bumpy roads. Service center response slow and parts take long delivery time. High price tag with poor reliability and harsh ride.
