German luxury car brand Mercedes-Benz is all set to uncover the CLA facelift on January 18, and ahead of that, the automaker took to social media to release a teaser of the car. The revised Mercedes-Benz CLA comes with a plug-in hybrid powertrain among various updates, as the teaser image indicates. Considering how the A-Class and B-Class models went through a mild facelift in the recent past, the CLA is unlikely to receive major changes. Interestingly, the automaker updated the A-Class in October last year.
If one dials up the teaser image's brightness, the license plate becomes visible, ending in E. This indicates the car will get a plug-in hybrid powertrain, which is in line with the automaker's electrification strategy.

The four-door coupe is expected to come with a new front bumper and updated LED headlights. Also, there would be a new redesigned grille and restyled wheels. At the back as well, the LED taillights would come with a more fluid appearance adding a further stylish vibe to the car.
The cabin of the updated Mercedes-Benz CLA coupe too, would receive some modest changes, following the footsteps of the A-Class. Expect it to come with a streamlined centre console that avoids a touchpad controller. Other updates inside the cabin would include a revised steering wheel, a fingerprint sensor and a fresh MBUX touchscreen infotainment system. Also, there would be trim and upholstery updates as well as a more streamlined equipment list as well.
While the car is all set to debut tomorrow, here is what to expect from its powertrain. It could come with a revamped engine lineup to embrace the mild-hybrid technology. The new CLA could get a 1.3-litre four-cylinder engine pumping out power output between 136 PS and 163 PS. Also, there would be a slightly larger 2.0-litre power mill capable of generating an output between 190 PS and 224 PS. Besides that, there would be diesel and other plug-in hybrid options as well as more powerful AMG versions too.
