Audi launches all-new Q8 SUV at starting price of ₹1.33 crore
MUMBAI : Audi India on Wednesday drove in the latest member in the Q family of cars with the top-of-the-range Q8 starting at ₹1.33 crore (ex showroom). The Q8 has been an eagerly awaited SUV in India for quite some time now and its launch marks Audi's foray into uber luxury SUV segment in the country. Powered by a 3.0-litre TFSI petrol engine, the Q8 puts out 340 hp of power and has peak torque figures of 500 Nm. These figures are capable of propelling the imposing SUV from stationery to 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds. Transmission duties are handled by an eight-speed tiptronic lever.
Much of the Q8 is also about how it stands when not thundering down roads. At 4.99 meters in length, 2 meters in width and 1.71 meters tall, the SUV has a dominating proportion which tends to command attention. A wheelbase of 3 meters promise spacious interiors.

At the front, the Q8 gets a singleframe grille in an octagonal design while the LED head lights - standard HD Matrix LED technology - flow into the upper fender. The air fenders are pronounced which adds to the character of the car. Audi says it has given special attention to how the car looks like from the side and the rear, and the flare of the fender starts midway on the door and moves to combine with the rear lift gate. There is a panoramic sunroof while the doors are frameless.
On the inside, there is more opulence with a driver focused cockpit design, button-less MMI navigation system, four-zone automatic air conditioning, customised seats with massage functionality, among others.
The Audi Q8 also gets a number of safety features including eight airbags, Audi Park Assist and Electronic Stabilization Program.
The Q8 promises to take the ultra premium SUV game to the next level and is expected to give stiff competition to its rivals from Mercedes-Benz - GLE Coupe, BMW X6, Range Rover Sport, among others.
