The Ultraviolette Shockwave was launched in India on March 5, 2025, at the company’s Fast Forward event in Bengaluru. The all-new electric enduro motorcycle is the first of two new bikes launched on Ultraviolette’s Funduro platform and comes at an introductory price of ₹1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The Shockwave launches amid the brand’s announcement of a major EV offensive. Ultraviolette is aiming to launch 10 new electric two-wheelers by 2028, and the list is set to include scooters and long-range cruisers.
The Ultraviolette Shockwave is currently available in two colour options: Frost White and Cosmic Black. Details about variants and configurations have not yet been made available and will be released in Q4 2024.
The Ultraviolette Shockwave is fitted with a range of features that make it an exciting offering in the E2W market. It comes with dual projector LED headlamps and features a five-inch TFT display mounted vertically to provide the rider with all the necessary bits of information. The electric enduro further features six levels of dynamic regen and four traction control modes for enhanced adaptability. It also comes with switchable dual-channel ABS.
The new Shockwave will have a 14.5 bhp PMS motor which puts out 505 Nm of peak torque at the wheel. Ultraviolette claims a top speed of 120 kmph and states that the enduro can sprint from a standstill to 60 kmph in 2.9 seconds. UV claims that the new Shockwave will bring a range of 165 km (IDC) on a single charge, however, the battery size is yet to be confirmed.
The Shockwave gets 37 mm cartridge-type telescopic front forks with 200 mm of travel, while the rear gets a monoshock with 180 mm of travel. It sports spoked wheels with a 19-inch front wrapped in a 90/90-section tyre. The rear gets a 17-inch unit with a 110/90-section tyre. Braking duties are taken care of by a 270 mm front disc with an axial-mounted dual-piston caliper while the rear gets a 220 mm disc with a floating piston caliper.
With its price point, the Ultraviolette Shockwave is pitted against the ICE-powered Hero XPulse 210 which was also launched earlier this year.
