Hyundai Venue sails over choppy waters to cross 1 lakh in bookings
Hyundai had first showcased Venue on board a passenger ship back in May of 2019. In the subsequent months, the Indian auto industry as a while found going tough against proverbial waves with Hyundai being no exception. Venue, however, has been the exception and the car recently breached the 1 lakh-mark in bookings.
Venue is widely regarded as a smart product positioning as the compact SUV segment has held its ground despite the slowdown in the Indian auto industry. With cars like the Brezza from Maruti Suzuki and Nexon from Tata Motors ageing just a tad, Venue came in as a viable alternative at near same price point but with new looks and packed as much to the brim as can be expected from a Hyundai. As such, the car managed to keep things ticking for the Korean car maker. "2019 has been a challenging year for the Indian automotive industry. Even in such adverse conditions, Hyundai Motor India as committed has launched 4 new benchmark products in different segments," said Tarun Garg, Director – Sales, Marketing & Service, Hyundai Motor India. "As a smart mobility leader, Hyundai became the first company to bring the First Connected SUV –VENUE and First Long Range Fully Electric SUV- KONA in the Indian market."

Venue, therefore, is likely to continue to keep packing a solid punch. The car borrows certain styling elements from the Creta but the younger sibling has its own unique character lines. Offered in three engine options - 1.0-litre petrol, 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel, the Venue gets LED DRLs, cascading front grille, 16-inch alloys and is the first connected car in its segment. In fact, Hyundai boasted at the time of launch that the Venue has 33 features like SOS, panic notifications, speed alerts and road-side assistance. The higher variant also get an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control and an eight-inch infotainment system.
