Aprilia RS457 production starts ahead of deliveries


Aprilia launched their much-awaited RS457 at India Bike Week 2023. The motorcycle has been developed and designed in Italy but it is being manufactured at Piaggio's Baramati plant in India. Now, Piaggio India has started production of the Aprilia RS457 at their manufacturing plant. The deliveries of the motorcycle will begin in March 2024.
Aprilia RS457: Price and rivals
Aprilia RS457 will be competing against the Kawasaki Ninja 400, KTM RC 390 and the Yamaha R3. The motorcycle is priced at ₹4.1 lakh ex-showroom. At this price, it undercuts the Kawasaki Ninja 400 and Yamaha R3 as well.

Aprilia RS457: Design
In terms of looks, the RS457 looks like a high-quality product, just what we expect from Aprilia. It looks like a smaller version of the RS 660. The front-end looks similar with sleek LED headlamps and Daytime Running Lamps. As the RS 457 is a sports bike, there is a full fairing, a set of clip-ons and rear set footpegs. The RS 457 will also enjoy an exclusivity factor as there are not a lot of Aprilia motorcycles in the Indian market.

Aprilia RS457: Engine
Aprilia is using a new 457 cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, parallel-twin engine that is tuned to churn 47 bhp and 46 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed transmission. The motorcycle is underpinned by a twin-spar aluminium frame that is suspended by up-side down forks in the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a disc in the front as well as at the rear. There is a dual-channel anti-lock braking system on offer as well.
Aprilia RS457: Features
In terms of features, the RS457 is equipped with ride-by-wire throttle, LED lighting, three levels of riding modes and three levels of traction control settings. There is also a 5-inch TFT screen that shows all the vital information to the rider.
