Suzuki Motorcycles has officially launched the BS 6 version of the Suzuki Burgman Street scooter today at the price of ₹77,900 (ex-showroom). With the launch of the new version, Suzuki has discontinued the BS 4 version of Burgman Street altogether.
The BS 6-compliant Burgman Street was showcased by Suzuki Motorcycles at the Auto Expo 2020 earlier this month.
The look and feel of the new Burgman Street is not very different from its predecessor. However, there is one major difference between the two. The Burgman Street scooter now gets a Fuel Injection technology, which enables easy start even in cold conditions and smoother power delivery, and an engine kill switch.
The new Burgman Street comes with aluminium 4 stroke, single cylinder 124cc engine. It can produce max power of 8.7 PS @ 6750rpm and 10 Nm @ 5500 rpm of torque.
As far as design is concerned, the new Burgman Street gets chrome accent on the front and rear, body-mounted windscreen and upward muffler design. It also features a glove box with DC socket that helps charging cellphones on the go.
The new Burgman Street will be available in four colours – Metallic Mat Fibroin Gray, Pearl Mirage White, Metallic Matte Black No. 2, and Metallic Matte Bordeaux Red.
Commenting on the launch Mr. Koichiro Hirao, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India said, “Suzuki Motorcycle India is a pioneer in 125cc scooter segment in India and we have also successfully created a new category of advanced premium riding by introducing Burgman Street in the country. Today, we are delighted to offer this premium scooter with BS6 engine along with Fuel Injection technology to make it even more enjoyable. We are confident that the upgraded Burgman Street with BS6 will add a zing to an overall riding experience for our customers."
The price of the 2020 Burgman Street has been fixed at ₹77,900. Despite minimal changes compared to its BS 4 version, the scooter is now more expensive by around ₹7,000.
