Can electric Chetak be a game changer for Bajaj and Indian two-wheeler market
The Bajaj Chetak was a common sight in years gone by and was quite the pride of owners. Now, the Pune-based company has brought back the good old days and the scooter but in an electric variant.
Bajaj recently launched the new Chetak in the electric version. The sale of battery powered scooter will start in Pune from January before moving to Bengaluru and other markets.
The scooter will be built at the company's Chakan plant and sold through the company's pro-biking dealers. The company also plans to move it to European markets some time in 2020.
