Maruti claims that the new Ignis also offers more space than before and has distinct dual tone ivory interiors and new modern pattern for seat fabric. The 17.78cm SmartPlay studio makes its Ignis debut. It supports NAV, voice commands and more. This has also been incorporated into the new Brezza which was launched a day earlier.

Powering the new Ignis is a BS6 compliant 1.2 litre VVT Petrol engine. A five-speed manual transmission and AGS options are available as well.

Continuing to offer customization options, Maruti says customers will be able to choose between two premium customization options in the new Ignis - Acropolis and Scorcher theme. There would also be three new dual-tone options. The car also offers two additional body colour options in its new 2020 version.

Ignis had made its global debut in Japan back in January of 2016 before making its debut in India. Sold under Maruti Suzuki's Nexa premium brand, the car is a power performer in its segment and the company is confident of the new version being liked even more. "Ignis enjoys a special place in the Maruti Suzuki Nexa portfolio and has been appreciated for its peppy drivability and spacious interiors," said Kenichi Ayukawa, MD & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India. "We have recognised an increasing preference for feature loaded cars that have SUV-like high seating position and dominant road presence. We are confident that the all new IGNIS with its SUV design and spacious interiors will appeal to the customers."
