Activa pushes total Honda's BS 6 sales to over 60,000 units

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Private Limited announced on Tuesday that it has sold 60,000 BS 6 units of its scooters and motorcycles that do meet the upcoming emission norms. Driving the sales is the Activa 125 and SP 125 motorcycle.

The Activa has been a best-seller for Honda for quite some time now and in its BS 6 version, offers 13% more mileage and many first in segment features - Side Stand Indicator with Engine Inhibitor, digital analogue meter, integrated dual function switch and external fuel lid, Idling Stop System, front glove box for additional storage and special 6-year warranty package. At its heart is the 125cc PGM-FI HET engine boosted by the eSP technology.

Honda had also introduced the SP125 BS 6 version some time back with a new 125cc HET engine which promises 16% more mileage. It gets full digital meter (displaying real-time advanced information like distance to empty, average fuel efficiency and real-time fuel efficiency), LED DC headlamp, Engine Start/Stop switch, Integrated headlamp beam/Passing switch, Eco Indicator, Gear Position Indicator.

Both Activa and SP 125 are offered with a six-year warranty package.

While the Activa is priced starting Rs. 67,490, the SP 125 starts at Rs. 72,900 (both ex showroom prices for Delhi).
