Five big announcements from Volvo India for 2021
Volvo India recently revealed the new XC40 Recharge for the Indian market. At the event, the company rolled out several new announcements for the country.
Here are five key highlights of Volvo's new plans for India in 2021.
XC40 Recharge will go on sale in the Indian market in October, meanwhile, the company will initiate its pre-bookings from June while the deliveries are set to being from October only. It is going to be the first fully electric model from the company's in its Indian lineup.

The launch of XC40 Recharge will be closely followed by the introduction of C40 Recharge in India. The C40 Recharge takes inspiration from the XC40 Recharge and appears to be an SUV coupe version of the same. The company says that it is going to play a significant role in the company's all-electric vision. The C40 Recharge will be manufactured at the same plant - Ghent (Belgium) as the XC40 Recharge and will be underpinned by the CMA platform that's also found on its ICE powered counterpart.
The all-new Volvo S90 will be launched in India later in 2021. The company announced the launch details of the ucpoming new S90 at the unveil event of the XC40 Recharge.
The New 'Smarter' XC60 will go on sale in India later this year. Apart from the S90 and XC40 Recharge, another model which will be added up to the company's Indian lineup will be the updated XC60 SUV.

Volvo India announced that it is aiming for an all-electric future not just globally, but in India too. In fact, the company also announced that 80% of its sales in India by 2025 will be driven by battery-powered vehicles. It said that "80% of the overall sales in India by 2025 will include pure electric vehicles", the company announced its ambitious plans at the event on Tuesday.
