BMW launches 'Made in India' 530i Sport at ₹55.40 lakh

BMW has launched the 530i Sport sedan in India at a starting price of ₹55.40 lakh (ex showroom). Building on the petrol portfolio in the 5 series, BMW 530i Sport will be produced locally at the company's plant in Chennai.
Close on the heels of 530i M Sport which has a ₹60.90 lakh price tag (ex showroom), the 530i Sport gets the same 2.0-litre petrol engine which helps it achieve maximum power of 252 hp and peak torque of 350 Nm. The engine is BS 6 compliant and is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

There are five driving modes inside the 530i Sport - Comfort, Eco Pro, Sport, Sport+ and Adaptive. Launch Control comes as standard while BMW claims the car can propel from stationery to 100 kmph in 6.1 seconds.
The 530i Sport also benefits from a long list of safety features including ABS with brake assist, Dynamic Stability Control, Hill Descent Control, Runflat tyres, Electronic Vehicle Immobiliser and Cornering Brake Control. It also gets adaptive LED head lights and boasts of six airbags. The car also gets Parking Assist, rear view camera and Park Distance Control.
The cabin of the 530i Sport is plush with dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, electric sunroof, 12.3-inch MID unit, 10.25-inch infotainment screen - now with Apple CarPlay and a 12-speaker unit.
Staying true to its 5-series heritage, the 530i Sport is regally sporty and gets generous doses of chrome. The front kidney grille is an interplay between chrome and glossy black finish and the car sits on 17-inch alloys. Even the key itself is extremely exquisite - it is called BMW Display key and helps the owner monitor the vehicle from anywhere and at any time.
In India, the 530i Sports from BMW will go up against the E-Class from Mercedes-Benz, Audi A6, Jaguar's XF and the Volvo S90.
