Both the SUVs were showcased at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2020.

Hector Plus is a 6- and 7-seater addition to the Hector brand that the company claims is India’s first internet car.

Hector Plus is designed to build on the success of HEctor and has a more premium look and customisable seating configuration, along with revamped interiors and exteriors, MG Motor India President and Managing Director Rajeev Chaba said at the Auto Expo.

On the other hand, the Gloster would be MG's first offering in the premium luxury SUV segment when it is officially launched.

The Gloster benefits from an imposing body structure which helps it craft a massive road presence. While it gets its name from a British jet-engine aircraft prototype and MG says it pays ode to British engineering, the Gloster seeks to create a fan following courtesy its bold visual aesthetics coupled with a premium cabin space.

MG claims that the Gloster will have capable drive dynamics and will offer best-in-class features. Rajeev Chaba, President & Managing Director at MG India, feels the time is right to expand the product portfolio. "The launch of Gloster will mark our entry into the luxury SUV segment. We are confident that, with its best-in-class features, specifications and performance, the Gloster will be a benchmark for luxury SUVs in India with its launch later this year," he said.

The company currently offers the Hector SUV and MG ZS EV. The Hector SUV has been a success story for the company so far, selling more than 50,000 units within 8 months. As of now, ZS EV remains the only electric vehicle offered by the company in India. However, MG plans to bring in more affordable EV options for customers soon.
