MG Hector Plus: Overview

The MG Hector Plus is the three-row, seven-seat version of the Hector SUV and is positioned as a family-focused alternative within MG Motor India’s mid-size SUV lineup. First introduced alongside the standard Hector after MG’s India debut in 2019, the Hector Plus builds on the same core platform while offering added seating flexibility through a third row. For the 2026 model year, MG Motor India has launched the latest facelift of the Hector Plus, marking the nameplate’s third update since launch. This update is relatively incremental in nature and focuses on cosmetic revisions and feature continuity, aimed at keeping the Hector Plus relevant in a segment that has witnessed frequent refreshes and new competitors.

MG Hector Plus: Price

The facelifted MG Hector Plus has been introduced with prices starting at ₹17.29 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Sharp Pro petrol variant with a manual gearbox. The range extends up to ₹19.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec Savvy Pro petrol variant equipped with a CVT automatic transmission. These prices are part of an introductory offer that is limited to a certain number of units, although MG Motor India has not disclosed the exact allocation. Prices for diesel-powered Hector Plus variants are yet to be announced.

MG Hector Plus: Launch Date

The 2026 MG Hector Plus facelift has been launched in India alongside the updated five-seater Hector as part of MG’s latest model year update. This marks the third facelift for the Hector range since its original introduction in 2019, following the more comprehensive design and feature update rolled out in 2023.

MG Hector Plus: Variants & Colours

The MG Hector Plus facelift is available in two primary trims, Sharp Pro and Savvy Pro, both offered with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. The Sharp Pro variant can be had with either a manual gearbox or a CVT, while the Savvy Pro is exclusively offered with the CVT automatic. In terms of exterior finishes, the Hector Plus shares its colour options with the standard Hector. For the 2026 update, MG has added a new blue paint shade to the palette, joining the existing range of monotone and dual-tone colour options.

MG Hector Plus: Mileage

The petrol-powered MG Hector Plus offers an ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency figure of around 14 kmpl, similar to the five-seater Hector, with real-world mileage varying based on driving conditions and transmission choice. Once launched, the diesel variants are expected to deliver higher efficiency figures, likely in the range of 17 to 19 kmpl.

MG Hector Plus: Specs & Features

Powering the facelifted MG Hector Plus is the familiar 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 141 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission, depending on the variant. A 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine, producing 167 bhp and 350 Nm of torque and paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, will continue to be offered, with pricing to be announced at a later date.

On the features front, the Hector Plus retains its focus on space and technology. Key highlights include a large vertically oriented touchscreen infotainment system with connected car technology, a panoramic sunroof, a digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone connectivity, ambient lighting, wireless charging, a powered driver seat, an air purifier, and multiple drive modes. The third row adds practicality for larger families, while the second-row captain seats or bench configuration, depending on variant, enhances passenger comfort.

MG Hector Plus: Safety

Safety equipment on the MG Hector Plus facelift includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring, and a surround-view camera. Higher variants are equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, offering features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, and autonomous emergency braking, positioning the Hector Plus competitively on the safety front within its segment.

The MG Hector Plus competes in the three-row mid-size SUV segment, where it rivals models such as the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and other recently updated seven-seat SUVs.
