Hyundai Aura to make global debut on December 19
Aura is the next big storm brewing at the Hyundai camp and the company is gearing up for the sedan's global debut on December 19. The car will be officially launched in February at Auto Expo 2020.
Aura will be based on the Xcent platform and while the Xcent will continue to be sold, will be primarily targeted towards fleet operators and cab aggregators. The Aura, on the other hand, will be positioned as a premium sub-four metre sedan and Hyundai will offer three engine options in it - the 1.2 Kappa Dual VTVT petrol, 1.0-Turbo Dual VTVT petrol and 1.2 U2 CRDi diesel. While the first will power figures of 83 PS, the turbo engine will churn out 100 PS and the diesel unit will offer 75 PS.

The Aura is expected to get a number of design upgrades to give it a distinct look and appeal. On the inside, the car can borrow certain features like touchscreen and wireless charging from the Grand i10 NIOS.
Earlier in November, Hyundai said that it has begun extensively testing Aura on Indian roads and varied conditions.
Aura will go head on against Maruti Suzuki's Dzire as well as Honda Amaze, VW Ameo and Ford Aspire.
