The car is priced at 829,000 rubles ( ₹9.25 lakh) and is expected to go on sale in Russia by March 2020. India is also likely to get the new generation Skoda Rapid by next year. However, the India specifications may vary from its Russian avatar.

The front of the new Skoda Rapid now gets a distinct personality with sharply defined edges, the falling line of the hood, the arrow-shaped headlights with built-in LEDs and the hexagonal radiator grill form a modern image of the popular model.

The rear of the car has also undergone significant changes. It is now distinguished by narrowed L-shaped lanterns in a crystalline design, which recalls the traditions of the production of the famous Bohemian crystal, referring to the rich historical heritage of the brand.

On the inside, the new Rapid gets decorative panels and the center console with a separate display of the infotainment system. It is located directly in the driver’s field of vision so that nothing distracts him from driving. The car also is the first Skoda model in Russia for which a 2-spoke heated steering wheel is available.
The new Skoda Rapid will come with two engine variants - a 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. For India, the engine variants can change. Currently, India gets the 1.6-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel variants. When Skoda brings in the new Rapid to India, it is likely to come with new BS-6 engines.
