Porsche launches Cayenne Coupe at ₹1.31 crore, to rival X6, GLE series
- Porsche has given a much different outlook and mechanics to the Cayenne Coupe from the Cayenne classic.
- The car comes in two variants with the Turbo Coupe also making its way to India.
Porsche India on Friday drove in the all new Caynne Coupe at ₹1.31 crore and the more powerful Cayenne Turbo Coupe at ₹1.97 crore (ex showroom prices). Assuring a sporty look and feel to the coupe version of the Cayenne, Porsche emphasised that this here is a car that needs to be driven to be truly enjoyed.
The Cayenne Coupe makes a mark quite distinct from the classic Coupe courtesy a redesigned and redeveloped exteriors - barring the front face. The roofline stoops very noticeably which helps the car appear more dynamic and sporty. The reformed rear doors and wings make the car wider than the classic version by about 18 mm - at shoulder height It is also 13 mm shorter.
Under the hood of the Coupe is a three-litre V6 turbo engine which is capable of max power figures of 340 hp and max torque at 450 Nm. It goes from zero to 100 kmph in 6 seconds. Cayenne Turbo Coupe is fitted with a four-litre V8 engine which has max power rating of 550 hp and torque returns at a heart stopping 770 Nm. What this translates to on road is a zero to 100 kmph dash in just 3.9 seconds. An eight-speed triptronic gearbox handles transmission duties.

The car comes with a fixed roof spoiler as well as an adaptive rear spoiler as part of Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA). This adaptive spoiler extends by 130 mm at speeds in excess of 90 kmph.
The Cayenne Coupe comes fitted with a panoramic fixed glass roof as standard. Much like in other markets, a contoured carbon roof comes as optional.
The car - in both variants - comes with a 2+2 seat setup. The rear seats are positioned slightly lower to balance out the stooping roofline at the rear.
In India, the Cayenne Coupe will take on BMW X6 and Mercedes' GLE series.
