Skoda to offer 6 airbags as standard with Slavia and Kushaq

Skoda Auto India has announced that the Kushaq and Slavia will now be offered with six airbags as standard. So, even the base variants of the Slavia and Kushaq will be offered with six airbags. Apart from this, there are no changes to the models. It is important to note that Slavia and Kushaq have already secured a five-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test.

As standard, the vehicles come with Anti-lock braking system with Electronic Brake Distribution, Electronic Stability Control, Multi Collision Braking, Electronic Differential Lock System, Traction Control System, Brake Disc Wiping and rear defogger. There is also a tyre pressure monitoring system, anti-theft alarm and engine immobilizer.

Till now, both cars were only offered with dual airbags as standard and with six airbags on the top-end variants. Speaking on the upgrades, Petr Janeba, Brand Director, Skoda Auto India, said: "Safety has always been intrinsic to the Škoda DNA. We were the first brand to score a full 5-stars for adults and children under the Global NCAP tests. Our emphasis on safety embodies our Human Touch approach, and underscores our focus on being a family brand. We always offered frontal airbags in our base variants and six in our higher variants, each as safe as the other. As part of our MY24 updates we now offer six airbags across all variants of the Kushaq and Slavia. We are always listening to our customers and shall continue to provide relevant upgrades and significant product actions within our product portfolio and our variant line- up."

Now that Skoda Auto India has announced 6 airbags for their India 2.0 cars, there is a high chance that Volkswagen will also announce the addition of 6 airbags as standard for their Taigun and Virtus in the coming weeks.
