EICMA to celebrate 100 years with around 20 motorcycle premieres
Just one month after Intermot in Cologne, Germany, the world's leading motorcycle brands will converge on Milan for EICMA, which celebrates its centenary this year. Organizers announce that around 20 new motorcycles and scooters are expected to debut at the event.
Yamaha will likely be the brand with the most premieres, between its new, more powerful YZF 1000 R1 and updated versions of the MT-07 and MT-09. In terms of scooters, the Japanese manufacturer could also present the successor to the T-Max 530.

Honda is expected to take advantage of EICMA to introduce the much-anticipated RCV 1000 production model, derived from the MotoGP version. If it is indeed unveiled, this high-end road racer will no doubt be among the stars of the show. The Japanese brand may also round out its trail range by presenting a new performance-focused model.
Among the premieres already confirmed is that of the Kawasaki Vulcan S, which will make its European debut at EICMA. The cruiser is already available in the North American market.
European brands also plan to claim their share of the limelight in Milan. BMW is expected to present the S 1000 XF, a sport touring bike based on the S 1000 R. In addition, inspired by the success of the R nineT, the German manufacturer could likely unveil another vintage-inspired model. KTM is also due to bring its share of novelty to Milan, starting with the highly anticipated 1290 Super Adventure.
On its home turf in Italy, Ducati is slated to stage the world premiere of its 2015 models, which may include a refreshed Multistrada and a new, more powerful Panigale 1199. Finally, Moto Guzzi is expected to present several variations on its 1400 California.
The 72nd EICMA motorcycle show takes place from November 6 to 9 this year, exactly 100 years after the inaugural edition in 1914.
