Auto Expo 2020: What to expect from Hyundai

  • Hyundai will look to steal the limelight at Auto Expo 2020 with the new Creta and Verna while it also plans to showcase the face lift Tucson SUV.
Creta (ix25 in China) will look to once again grab eyeballs at Auto Expo 2020.

South Korean carmaker Hyundai is debuting the new generation Creta and the updated versions of the Tucson, and the Verna at Auto Expo 2020.

The Tucson, Creta and the Verna will be seen in upgraded versions and will meet Bharat Stage (BS) 6 emission norms.

Auto Expo 2020 will be held between February 7 and February 12 in Greater Noida.

Creta 2020

Hyundai has confirmed that the new Creta will make its India debut at Auto Expo 2020. The car will borrow its style from the China variant iX25 compact. The car is expected to have a touchscreen infotainment system and a new digital instrumental panel.

The Creta too will be BS6 compliant and will have a 1.5-litre diesel (CRDI) and petrol (VTVT) units.The SUV will also be offered with the 1.4-litre t-GDI turbo-petrol engine.

These engine transmission combinations are already available in Creta’s competitor Kia Seltos.

The car is also expected to sport a panoramic sunroof, auto AC, LED headlamps and up to six airbags and automatic parking brake.

Verna

The Verna facelift was first showcased at the Chengdu Motor show in China last year and will have an aggressive and edgy look, unlike its predecessor. The new Verna will also sport a sleeker and wider cascading grille that the car is known for.

The sedan will have larger headlights with three definitive demarcations, including the project headlamp, parking lamp and turn indicator. It will also be standing on new allow wheel designs, with the higher variants getting diamond-cut dual-tone rims.

The Verna will have semi-digital dials, a bigger infotainment system and BlueLink connected-car tech. It is expected to come with a BS6-compliant 1.5 litre petrol and diesel engines.

Reports also suggest that Hyundai will launch the Hyundai i20 N Fastback, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios 1.0 at the Auto Expo 2020.
