Hyundai is looking for a big start to 2020 and is bringing in the Aura compact sedan to the market to take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze. The Koreans are promising stellar looks and a premium cabin, alongwith three engine options which are BS 6 compliant. Here are the live and latest updates from the launch event of Hyundai Aura:
Here is how Hyundai has priced the all new Aura. Do note that these are ex showroom, pan-India prices and are introductory.
Six colour options on the Aura - Silver, Red, White, Brown, Grey and Blue.
A great addition to the safety list on the Aura is an emergency stop signal which makes the emergency lights flash automatically in case of panic braking.
Dual front airbags are standard, so is ABS with EBD.
Hyundai says the feature list in the Aura is especially thought of keeping in mind aspirations of young India.
The Aura, therefore, gets boomerang DRLs, satin silver 3D mesh grille, glossy C Pillar and stylish tail lights.
On the inside, Hyundai claims Aura has a spacious cabin, good under thigh support, satin-silver finish on the dash and bolstered seats.

Hyundai says India contributes 10% to its global sales and is a very important market for the company. It expects Aura to add to the volumes with Hyundai saying special focus has been given to making it look stylish, feel premium and drive strong.
The 1.2 litre Kappa petrol has peak power of 83 Ps, mileage of 20.50kmpl (MT) & 20.10 (AT)
1.2 litre ECOTORQ gets peak power of 75 Ps, mileage of 25.35 kmpl (MT), 25.40 kmpl (AT)
1.0 litre turbo petrol has 100 Ps of power, mileage of 20.50 kmpl (MT)
Hyundai says Aura comes with as many as 14 segment firsts.
With Xcent starting at ₹5.81 lakh (ex showroom) and the top variant falling just under ₹9 lakh (ex showroom), it is more than likely that Hyundai will price Aura in the ₹6 lakh to ₹9 lakh bracket.
Aura will be the only compact sedan in India with a BS 6-compliant diesel engine. The 1.2 l BS-6 ECOTORQ motor is reportedly more fuel efficient.
Hyundai's new design language 'Sensuous Sportiness' promises to give a stellar look to the Aura which borrows elements from Grand i10 Nios.
Aura stands stands 3,995 mm in length, 1,680 mm in width and 1,520 mm in height. There also is 402 liters of boot space.
