Mahindra unveils concept electric sports car Halo

Mahindra & Mahindra's (M&) electric division, REVA, on Thursday unveiled a concept electric sports car, the Halo. The two-seater can reach a speed of 100 km per hour in under eight seconds, the company said on the second day of the 12th Auto Expo in Greater Noida.

The car doesn't have the sharp contours of most sports vehicles, but a tame, round look. It has been designed by the REVA team.

The 'green' sports car, if such a thing can be produced for commercial use, will be develop nearly 140bhp and have a top speed of around 200 kmph.

The company plans to conduct research in India and a few other countries to assess consumer needs for an electric sports car.
