Auto Expo 2020: What to expect from Mahindra & Mahindra

  • With a focus on electric cars, Mahindra and Mahindra aims to grab the spotlight at Auto Expo 2020.

Mahindra & Mahindra is expected to grab eyeballs at Auto Expo 2020 by showcasing as many as 18 vehicles.

The Auto Expo 2020 will begin from February 7. The expo will be held at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Mahindra eKUV 100: The eKUV 100 looks exactly like its petrol version and is expected to come powered with 40 kW electric that unleashes around 53bhp and 120 Nm torque. The car will have a 15.9 kWh lithium-ion battery that offers a range of 120 km on a single charge.

The interiors are expected to remain unchanged with the seating capacity of 5 people, including the driver. The eKUV 100 is expected to be priced below 9 lakh.

Mahindra eXUV300: The electric version of Mahindra’s popular SUV will be the highlight at the Auto Expo. The eXUV300 will draw energy from a 40 kWh battery pack, capable of covering up to 300 km on a single charge.

The Mahindra eXUV 300 is code-named S210 and is expected to support AC (alternate current) and DC (direct current) fast-charging capabilities. There are likely to be two variants of the vehicle.

The launch of the eXUV300 is likely sometime in 2021. The eXUV300 will compete with Tata Nexon EV among others.

Mahindra eXUV500: The XUV500 electric is believed to be based on the fourth-generation Ssangyong Korando. The car will be showcased at Auto Expo 2020 with the official launch slated for later this year.

The eXUV500 is supposed to sport a smaller and sleeker version of Mahindra’s signature slatted grille. The grille will be flanked by multi-LED headlamp units. The SUV is also expected to offer a range of around 350-400km on a single charge with fast charging capabilities.

Mahindra will also showcase new futuristic concept, production ready electric vehicles and solutions. Mahindra claims this is one of the widest ranges of EVs displayed by an Indian automaker at this year’s Auto Expo.
