Seat launches new Ibiza in Barcelona

The popular Spanish supermini has had a serious overhaul including new engines and new in-car technology to help it challenge the supremacy of the Ford Fiesta in Europe.
When the car goes on sale this fall, it will offer a next-generation infotainment system and what the company describes as seamless smartphone integration and connectivity.
'With the New Ibiza, we are opening up a new chapter of connectivity. Our customers can continue their digital lifestyle, even when on the road. However, the key issue for us is always the safest and most intuitive operation of the functions,' says Dr. Matthias Rabe, SEAT Vice President for Research and Development.

Cabin materials have also been suitably upgraded and there's a stronger focus on active safety. The car will autonomously monitor the driver's fatigue levels and for the first time features multi-collision braking, which will bring the car to a halt after an accident to minimize injuries.
The car will also offer a new range of both gas and diesel engines, including an efficient yet dynamic three-cylinder turbocharged 1-liter petrol unit that offers up to 109bhp.
