Renault firm on cheap car for India
Its collaboration with Bajaj auto Ltd may be facing difficulties but Renault Nissan chairman Carlos Ghosn today said that he remained committed to bringing a low cost small car to India as the concept remained very attractive not only for India but globally as well.
'The entry price point of $ 2,500 (approx ₹1.17 lakh) is very important for the market not only for India but also for a lot of emerging markets,' Ghosn said at the IEC. 'We have to bring in the car with the basic feature, basic functionality at a very affordable price. I am stuck into making customers happy and satisfied and I remain committed to the project.'
