Opel to premiere new Corsa in Paris
The fifth-generation Corsa will be the star of the Opel stand at the Paris Motor Show this October. Also slated to go on display are a sporty version of the Adam and a brand new diesel version of the Mokka.
In 30 years, Opel has sold around 12 million units of the Corsa in Europe, making it the brand's best-selling model by far. The latest iteration of the Corsa introduces a multitude of driver assistance systems, including a blind spot detector, sign recognition, sudden lane departure warning, high beam assist, following distance indication and forward collision warning.

The cabin has been completely refreshed. The IntelliLink infotainment system is accessed through a 7-inch touch screen built into the center console near the gearbox.
Compatible with Android and iOS mobile terminals, the system can be managed easily through touch controls or voice commands.
The Corsa's chassis has been entirely redesigned and its center of gravity lowered by 5mm for better stability, whether on straight highways or winding roads. Under the hood, Opel is introducing several new fuel engines, starting with the 1.0-liter Ecotec direct-injection turbo with 115hp, which allows 0 to 100km/h acceleration in 10.4 seconds. Equipped with the fuel-saving start/stop system, the Corsa consumes just 4.9L/100km over a combined driving cycle.
The new Corsa will be officially unveiled at the Paris Motor Show before going into production later this year. Opel has announced a starting price of €11,990 for the Essentia three-door model and €13,090 for the five-door model.
A more muscular Adam
The Corsa will not be the only city car in the limelight on Opel's stand, as the new Adam S is also making its debut in Paris. Powered by a 1.4-liter turbo engine with 150hp, this sportier version of the Adam is expected to arrive at dealerships in early 2015.
Also on display in Paris, the Mokka with the new 1.6 CDTI Turbo Diesel with 136hp has an average fuel consumption of 4.1l/100km and CO2 emissions of 109g/km. The SUV will be offered with this new engine option from spring 2015.
The Paris Motor Show takes place October 4 to 19.
