Step on the gas pedal and all it takes is 1.73 seconds to get your speed up to 100 km/h with the new Peugeot Vision Gran Turismo prototype unveiled Wednesday for the 'Gran Turismo 6' video game.

The prototype attributes its rapid speed to a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, weighing in at 875 kilograms (kg) and boasting 875 hp.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Gran Turismo video game and this model is the result of game designer Kazunori Yamauchi's challenge to Peugeot automakers to create a commemorative car.

Peugeot designers and Peugeot Sport engineers joined forces to create the low-riding vehicle which stands 104 centimeters tall and is a sleek machine with barely any aerodynamic features, relying on its 'body design alone' to 'stick the car to the road.'
