Ford launches refreshed Fiesta at Rs. 7.7-9.3 lakh

US car major Ford, on Thursday, launched a refreshed version of its premium mid-size sedan Fiesta at ₹ 7.69-9.3 lakh for three diesel versions while the petrol version has been discontinued.

The Fiesta, of which only 1,198 units have been sold in 2013-2014, directly competes with higher selling Honda City and Hyndai Verna, is priced ₹ 67,000 to ₹ 1.7 lakh lower, depending on the variant. However, the lack of a petrol version may scuttle its chances. While the car has inherited its powertrain and mechanicals, it has got a makeover in design, including dual-tone interiors.

''The Fiesta has a very special role in Ford India's product portfolio and is for the pure driving enthusiasts who are known for their distinct choices and opt for nothing but the best,'' said Nigel Harris, president, Ford India.
