Speculation is rife after Bugatti released a short video hinting about the successor of its legendary Veyron.

The video, released on August 13, features just 35 seconds of road surface paired with an intriguing voiceover that begins with, 'A new chapter begins, join us. In the endless hunt for speed the horizon beckons... I go beyond reality.'

While the lyrics and the images may not be very telling, it is the hashtag that accompanies the video that has automobile fans excited on social media. Many have noticed the capital E in #imaginEBugatti and have speculated that the successor to Veyron may be electric, or at the least a hybrid version.

Bugatti announced it had sold the very last Veyron back in February this year, and it has been working on a new model for some time. It is rumored that this successor will be revealed to a select group of enthusiasts at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in the coming days.
