Tata launches Ultra range of trucks at Rs. 10.5-10.9 lakh


To boost its product portfolio and gain market share amid rising competition from foreign and domestic players, Tata Motors, India's largest bus and truck maker, on Thursday launched new Ultra range of intermediate and light commercial vehicles.
The Ultra 812 is priced at ₹ 10.53 lakh ( ex- showroom Chennai) and the Ultra 912 will be available at ₹ 10.94 lakh.


"With these products, we are not only looking at serving Indian but also global markets," said Ravi Pisharody, executive director (commercial vehicles), Tata Motors. The company plans to begin exporting these trucks by the end of the current financial year, he added.

The new Tata Ultra range of trucks will come in several variants with payload capacity between 5 and 15 tonnes, the company said.
The trucks will come with an option of multiple load body lengths of 14, 17 and 20 feet suitable for various applications, it said, adding that more options in shorter and longer deck lengths will be introduced soon.
The Ultra trucks were showcased by Tata Motors at the Auto Expo in 2012.
