In our recent tests, the Suzuki Gixxer outperformed its arch rivals, the newly introduced and fuel-injected Yamaha FZ-S V2.0, as well as Honda's new CB Unicorn 160, being a better value for money package and an all-round performer.

Suzuki's faired version of the Gixxer will go up against the Yamaha Fazer V2.0. The major difference here is that the Fazer V2.0 is equipped with a quarter fairing as well as fuel-injection, while the upcoming, faired Gixxer is clad in what looks to be a full fairing. The headlamp on the new motorcycle appears to be the same unit from the Gixxer, now inside a full fairing, and so, will not swivel with the handlebar. Speaking of which, the handlebars on the new bike seem to have been raised to allow better touring capability, a much needed change to aid comfortable long distance travel. Rear view mirrors are fit upon the fairing, and new clear lens turn indicators also emerge out of the fairing, wider than before. The new Gixxer will have a visor for wind deflection. Another visible difference is the new single piece pillion grab handle, which is larger and will provide better grip. A dual-outlet exhaust remains as seen on the naked Gixxer.
