The French manufacturer is set to make waves in Paris with the world premiere of the 2015 Espace, the latest version of the legendary MPV. Described as more crossover than minivan, the new car will share the spotlight with the new Twingo and the Eolab, a hybrid concept with a record fuel consumption of just 1 liter per 100km.

Launched in June 1984, the Renault Espace was nothing short of a revolution in the European car market. The French manufacturer even claims that the 7-seater was the world's first multi-purpose-vehicle (MPV). Thirty years later, with over 1.2 million units sold, the Renault Espace is still going strong.

For now, Renault has revealed only a few photos of the latest version, which is not due to launch until 2015. Designed to brave all types of terrain and weather conditions and described as a true crossover, the new Espace is directly inspired by the Initiale Paris concept unveiled in Frankfurt one year ago. The prototype stands out for its aluminum and plexiglas roof, luxurious materials, high-end acoustic ambiance and advanced climate control.

As far as the Espace, the only detail announced by Renault is that the modular five- and seven-passenger seating system has been revised for improved comfort.

Another model slated to turn heads on the Renault stand in Paris is the Eolab, a hybrid prototype that can purportedly travel 100km on a single liter of fuel, for CO2 emissions of just 22g/km. The model uses lightweight materials such as aluminum for the chassis and magnesium for the roof, making it 400kg lighter than the Clio, according to the brand. Under the hood, the new Z.E. Hybrid technology enables zero emissions motoring on trips of under 60km at speeds of up to 120km/h. The manufacturer has announced it will use the technology to expand its offer of zero emissions, all-electric models over the coming years.

Of course, visitors to the Renault stand will also find the next-generation Twingo, launched in France in early September, as well as the new Clio Initiale Paris, a high-end version of the city car with a unique design and heated leather seats.
