If you often visit group buying websites hoping to purchase premium brands at hefty discounts, then there is some surprise in store for you. Now, besides apparel, consumer electronics and books, you may soon also be able to cut a car deal in an initiative that will debut on SnapDeal - the online discount store.

SnapDeal has inked a tie-up with Tata Motors where it will sell Indica Vista and depending upon the success, it will explore the possibility of selling other car models. Snapdeal will offer these cars at 'guaranteed lowest price offer.'

'Ecommerce business in India is showing resurgence and consumers are not fighting shy of deal sizes that cross 20,000-25,000,' said Tony Navin, vice-president -business development, SnapDeal. 'We are introducing products that are bulkier in value and form and plan to offer car deals at discounts one won't find anywhere else.'

While travel related e-commerce continues to dominate in terms of market share, non-travel e-commerce is picking up beyond the metros and big cities.

The number of online buyers has jumped 70%- from 10 million to 17 million - while active Internet users have grown by 28% to 100 million in 2010.
