The first session at the Harley-Davidson Riding Academy was recently conducted in Mumbai as part of the company's bid to help both new and experienced riders better handle their motorcycles.

Based on decades of studying and understanding riding behaviour, HDRA is a global program that seeks to better equip people on Harley-Davidson motorcycles to negotiate technicalities. The first such session in India, conducted at CIDCO exhibition center, focused on motorcycle controls, controlled braking and slow-speed control. A group of 30 students participated in these and several other drills on a repetitive loop-based program.

Harley-Davidson has said that the session would be replicated at all company dealerships in the country over the next several months. "We consider it our responsibility to promote a culture of safe riding," said Sajeev Rajasekharan, Managing Director, Harley-Davidson India. "With this initiative, Harley-Davidson India hopes to create a large pool of skilled riders who are confident on their motorcycles."
