JK Tyre and Industries Limited on Thursday launched its SMART TYRE range at Auto Expo 2020.
The new range of technologically advanced tyre features cloud based monitoring system which helps in monitoring the wear and tear. Sensors are used to keep a check on the tyre and pressure is systematically checked through an integrated Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS). The sensors augment updates on tyre health via multiple digital platforms like the company’s indigenous TREEL Care app and web page.
JK claims that constant monitoring allows for early detection of issues and deployment of timely preventive measures. It is also claimed that this not only increases the life of the tyre but also improves mileage of the vehicle by 4% to 6% which results in reduced carbon emission.
Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director at JK Tyre, said that the new range will help people better maintain their vehicles. "Being the market leaders in the Indian tyre industry, we have once again lived up to our leadership role by delivering ‘Smart Tyre’ - an extension to our promise of providing advanced mobility solutions to our customers," he said.
