Italian supercar maker Lamborghini on Monday launched its new sports car, the Huracan, at a sticker price of 3.43 crore.

The car replaces the Gallardo, Lamborghini's best seller for years with sales of over 14,000 units.

The Huracan has got 1,000 bookings within 2 months of its global launch, the company said. In India, deliveries will begin in October, said Pavan Shetty, head, operations, Lamborghini India

The car is powered by a 5.2litre V10 engine that develops 610 hp of power, 560 Nm of torque, a top speed of over 325 km per hour and accelerates from standstill to 100 kph in 3.2 seconds (and 200 kph in 9.9 seconds).

With the Huracan, Lamborghini expects to double its sales tally in India to 40 cars per year in 2015. It had sold 22 cars in 2013.

Huracan has little competition in India. The Ferrari 458, and the Audi R8 that is based on Lamborghini's own Gallardo platform, are possible options. The Ferrari has a V8, 4.5-litre engine that develops 605 bhp of power and 540 Nm of torque.
