As many as 35 bravehearts from the Indian Navy recently undertook a 3,500 kilometer bike journey to several northeastern states of the country in a bid to raise awareness about what they do and inspire youth to join the naval force.

Starting their journey on Jawa bikes from a showroom in Guwahati, the riders - both men and women - were under the leadership of Rear Admiral P.G. Philipose. Their 25-day journey took the Jawa bikes and the riders on them across Tawang, Bumla Pass, Kohima, Agartala, Shillong, Cherrapunji, Kaziranga and Imphal.

While the Jawa bikes were put to the ultimate test, the riders too showcased exemplary mettle as they made way past remote and exotic locations, interacting with locals all along. The riders specially met youngsters in schools and colleges in these regions to raise awareness about the Indian Navy as well as spread the message of national unity.

Jawa motorcycles are manufactured by Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd, a subsidiary of the Mahindra group. The company launched the Perak earlier in November. Prior to this, the company had started accepting bookings for Jawa and Jawa Forty Two bikes.

The bikes are manufactured at Mahindra's facility in Pithampur (Indore, Madhya Pradesh).
