In about a year from now you will be able to stroll past streets as they were 200 years ago, and observe the vehicles in which our ancestors travelled.

Or explore decades of intriguing automobiles, enjoy Royal Rail Saloons, look at old aircraft, trams, palanquins, children's tri-cycles and even toys.

All these and many more exhibits — not replicas, but actual ones that have withstood the tests of time — will be on display at the Heritage Transport Museum located at Taoru off the Delhi-Jaipur highway near Manesar.

The oldest exhibit will be an actual bullock cart dating back to the year 1800.

"Like people, every vehicle has a story, a little tale about who and where and why," said Tarun Thakral, founder of Heritage Transportation Trust which is setting up the project that would cost 12 crore. "The objective of the museum is to present the antique, classic and one-of-a-kind wonders in a transportation time warp."

Thakral, a hotelier, owns about 50 vintage cars including a 1932 Chevrolet Phaeton.
